Dictionary-related events at the Oireachtas

We’ll be making two presentations at the Oireachtas, on the afternoon of Thursday 30 October:

2.00 Using the New English-Irish Dictionary

A practical session which will show how to get the most out of Foras na Gaeilge’s dictionary websites. Audience members are welcome to bring their laptops or handheld devices to this session, and to try the various search functions during the presentation.

3.00 Dictionary-related developments

An information session on the latest developments in Foras na Gaeilge’s current dictionary projects, and a look ahead at plans for initiatives currently in the pipeline, such as a corpus of spoken Irish and a computer-based grammar assistant. This will also be an opportunity for audience members to give feedback and ask questions about Foras na Gaeilge’s dictionaries.

Both these sessions will take place in the Munster Suite in the Brehon Hotel.
