suigh, v.t. & i. (pres. suíonn, vn. suí, pp. -ite). 1. Sit. (a) Suí ar chathaoir, to sit on a chair. ~ síos, sit down. ~ siar, sit back, recline. ~ fút, sit where you are. ~ go socair, sit still. ~ suas, sit up. ~ aníos chun na tine, sit up to the fire.
